Welcome to the Funeral Personalization Blog

Our family and staff at Pray Funeral Home have spent numerous hours developing various ways to help families remember their deceased loved ones. We have found that when the stories about the deceased family member are shared by friends and relatives during a gathering or visitation, the surviving family members have an easier time adjusting to their loss. There are many reasons that we believe this happens. The strongest being that the stories shared by visitors reinforce the positive aspects of the life and actions of the deceased. Knowing that the deceased will be remembered by others helps the survivors by knowing that the memory of the loved one will live on with others. In addition, the support they receive from visitors helps them realize that people from the community are there to help them through this most difficult time of their life.

What are your thoughts and experiences with personalization of remembrance, funeral, or memorial services.

We talk about the "personalization" of funeral and memorials, however what we are trying to accomplish is to create a meaningful and comforting experience for family and friends who have lost a person who was special to them. How can we do this? by taking the time to actually visit or discreetly interview family and friends about what made the deceased "special" and sharing that with those in attendance in creative ways.
